Students from South Africa are encouraged to apply for the 2026 Seriti Bursary Program. This bursary may pay your entire tuition and living expenses for the 2026 academic year if you are pursuing a mining-related field, such as electrical, mechanical, or mining engineering; geology; mine surveying; environmental studies; or VOHE. The deadline for applications is December 22, 2025. Successful applicants may also be given consideration for vacation employment and post-study work-back possibilities with Seriti.

Who should apply?
Seriti is looking for South African citizens who meet the following core eligibility criteria:

Registered full-time for a degree or diploma (NQF 7) at a recognized SA tertiary institution.

In their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study during 2026. (Note: first-year and bridging/foundation students are not eligible.)

Honors students may apply only in geology or environmental disciplines.

Minimum academic average of 60%.

A basic understanding of South African mining legislation (including the Mine Health and Safety Act).

Not currently receiving another bursary or sponsorship.
If you meet the above, proceed—but make sure you are not a 1st-year student or in a bridging program and that you are not already funded by another sponsor.
